Studies using the MrOS cohort

A series of studies are planned using the MrOS dataset, a cohort of older men in the USA. Planned studies include the association between stressful life events and back pain, the association between back pain and mortality, and the course of low back pain over time.


Gender at chiropractic conferences

A retrospective study investigating the gender distribution of invited speakers and abstract presenters at chiropractic conferences between 2010 and 2019.


Deep-learning muscle segmentation

A project using deep-learning to automate segmentation of muscles on MRI.


Lumbar spinal stenosis studies

A number of studies using a lumbar spine stenosis patient dataset are planned, including effect moderation analysis with comorbidities and imaging features.


Treatment choices in chiropractic care using COAST and OCOAST data

Exploring the selection of therapeutic interventions in patients presenting for chiropractic care in Australia and Canada, a secondary analysis of COAST and OCOAST data.


Serious pathology masquerading as mechanical spine pain

Investigating the presentation of serious pathology masquerading as mechanical spine pain in a secondary care setting by exploring features of the patients, their presentation, red flags, and imaging. Using the MiRD dataset which is based on patients attending the Spine Centre of Southern Denmark.


Pain diagrams and psychological profiles

A quantitative investigation into pain diagrams and the psychological profiles and characteristics of the patients who draw them, using the MiRD dataset from patients attending the Spine Centre of Southern Denmark.
